Set up in 2019, Stichting Nieuwgeluk Philosophy is a foundation that supports large and small change-oriented initiatives that are sympathetic to people, animals and nature. Our goal is to make heart-warming contributions. We hope to be able to make a difference to the preservation of a liveable world for current and future generations.
The Nieuwgeluk Team is closely involved with Philosophy because giving and sharing together adds an extra dimension to the foundation. We are extremely fortunate and grateful that we can contribute to the world with compassion together with our Nieuwgeluk Team.
Philosophy is dedicated to strengthening mental and physical well-being, scientific (medical) research, healthcare and nature conservation in the Netherlands and other parts of the world.
Francis de Wit, ChairmanIn this way, Stichting Nieuwgeluk Philosophy aims to do its bit for the bigger picture.
You have a different connection to each goal, but I personally believe that it is vital to make use of everyone’s passion to make an impact with the goal you have in mind.
Francis de Wit, ChairmanWe make a green contribution to both short-term as well as long-term solutions for the protection and conservation of biodiversity. We support animals and nature in the Netherlands and beyond, with a special place in our heart for Africa.
Physical and mental health is a beautiful thing. An active, healthy and happy society means the world to us. We keep watch over people's happiness in life by contributing to medical, mental and physical developments that are aimed at promoting all forms of quality of life.
In a stratified society, the vulnerable aren't always seen or heard, but these people are also close to our hearts. We focus on promoting engagement and social participation in the community, so that everyone can be a full-fledged participant in life and society.
The world is in constant motion and so are we. In areas where the direction of our strategies is broadly determined in advance, we can adapt quickly if the situation demands it. At Nieuwgeluk Philosophy, there is always room for unexpected projects to which we can make a valuable contribution based on our vision.
ANBI stands for Algemeen Nut Beogende Instelling, or Public Benefit Organisation in English. The Dutch tax administration imposes strict conditions on organisations that want to become an ANBI. The fact that Stichting Nieuwgeluk Philosophy has been granted this status is therefore good news for the foundation, but even more so for its donors. It means that donors enjoy certain tax benefits when giving, donating or bequeathing to our foundation. Read more on the Tax Authorities website.
In addition to gifts and one-off donations, Stichting Nieuwgeluk Philosophy also donates to long-term projects. In our view, the purpose of any long-term collaboration is to achieve a lasting impact. We believe these collaborations are aligned to Nieuwgeluk's own values. What's more, they allow us to build engagement on a much broader scale.
African Parks is an African wildlife organisation dedicated to the conservation and restoration of protected natural areas in Africa. African Parks’ emphasis is on the financial sustainability of the parks, most notably by developing tourism, encouraging economic activities and paying for ‘eco-system services’. Through these efforts, the foundation is paving the way for economic development and poverty reduction.
Every year, thousands of children in the Netherlands are born with a serious illness or a physical or mental impairment. Some of these children have little chance of reaching adulthood. The Kinderziekenhuizen van Oranje, literally: Children's Hospital of Orange, foundation collects donations for more research, improved medical treatment and child-friendly environments. We have joined forces with seven leading children's hospitals to set up special joint projects, enabling us to do even more for these vulnerable children.
The Oncode Institute is a collaboration between the very best cancer researchers and specialists in the Netherlands. One of the Oncode Institute’s main goals is to get results from the laboratory to patients faster. KWF, the Dutch Cancer Foundation, is the main driving force behind Oncode. It is important to raise as much money as possible for innovative cancer research, opening the doors to ‘creativity & passion’, which in turn stimulates the introduction of new research methods.
Every person is confronted with cancer in some shape or form during their lifetime. The consequences are often overwhelming, whether it's you who is diagnosed, or you know someone with the disease. KWF supports initiatives that help people whose lives are affected by cancer. That means not only fighting cancer, but also living with the disease. KWF provides initiatives that support people to live with and after cancer. And KWF works on life-changing research that can benefit patients at an earlier stage.
Kansfonds is a Foundation who are dedicated to helping people without a home. A roof over your head, enough money to live and a sense of belonging are basic needs but there are still over a million people in the Netherlands with no fixed home address. They simply don't have what they need to live a dignified life. Kansfonds believes this should not be able to happen in a society where we look out for each other. That's why Kansfonds helps give people a home.
Het Vergeten Kind, The Forgotten Child in English, is an organisation dedicated to helping vulnerable children and adolescents in the Netherlands who grow up in an unsafe or unstable home environment or who are forced to stay in a shelter. Our goal is for these children to feel heard and seen, for them to live in a safe and stable home and to allow them develop in the most positive way possible. This will give them the foundation they need to mature into happy adults and fully participate in society.
